The Technical Center started in 1958 as the National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center (NAFEC) in the former Naval Air Station, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Our approximately 250 buildings of various sizes house 500,000 square feet of laboratory space containing unique, specialized laboratories engaged in research, development, testing, and evaluation. The Technical Center is located 10 miles northwest of Atlantic City and covers more than 5,000 acres. The key to our continued success relies upon the expertise and passion of our diverse workforce of approximately 4,500 aviation professionals.
